Sam Crump agrees with the AFL-CIO?

Yes, you read that right!  Although, I don't agree with them on much, this week the AFL-CIO ran the following on their website:  "Representative Sam Crump has officially endorsed J.D. Hayworth, a move that would make him the lone 'tea party conservative' running in the district."  That's definitely a statement I agree with!

As I look back over the events of the past week, one thing keeps coming to my mind.  Our founding fathers were both brave and brilliant men.  One of these men, Thomas Jefferson said, "I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."  Why didn't the founding fathers think of a provision for housing or food in the Bill of Rights?  Perhaps a horse and a firearm for every citizen?  I believe that they chose to guarantee only life, liberty and the opportunity to pursue one's happiness, because they realized that to do otherwise would require an oppressive and controlling government.  And unfortunately, at this time in our great country, that is exactly where we find ourselves.  I sincerely hope that my first vote as a Congressman is to repeal ObamaCare!

Of course, now that the Obama-Pelosi-Reid team is riding their wave of victory, they are giddy about pursuing the immigration issue.  And you know what that means...amnesty.  Our nation has a proud heritage of immigration...legal immigration.  Rewarding people who come here illegally is wrong, and as Congressman I will oppose all efforts towards amnesty.
