McCain attacks Hayworth for voting for border security bill

In McCain's latest television ad, he attacks JD Hayworth for voting along with Jeff Flake for a Bush transportation bill that included $833 million for border security programs. McCain labeled Hayworth an earmarker for voting for it. If so, then why did Rep. Trent Franks also vote for it, and why isn't McCain denouncing Flake? McCain says in the ad, "When it comes to pork barrel spending, [Hayworth] is not a Conservative."

If you believe that McCain, then let's hear you say it about Trent Franks who also voted for the bill.

It is my delief that securing the border(s) is part of National defense. Being that that is one of the major components of the Federal governments responsibilities as prescribed by Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution, I would have to say that any expenditure to that end would not be considered as "pork". Maybe John McCain would do better to remember what his job is.
