Mark Levin responds to National Review's bizarre endorsement of McCain

From his facebook page -

NRO endorses McCain? *UPDATE

So, NRO finally feels compelled to jump into a primary race and which do they choose? Arizona! This editorial is all wrong. http://article.nationalreview.com/437138/mccain-once-more/the-editors
First, thanks to McCain's attack on Bush when Bush was trying to institute permanent tax cuts, we will all be facing huge tax increases next year. To say McCain has opposed broad-based tax increases over the years is simply misleading. Moreover, he led the fight for amnesty, cap-and-trade, "patients' bill of rights," closing GITMO, the Gang of 14, and on and on. Now, just in time for his primary, he opposes increasing taxes, insists on securing the boarder before all else, opposes cap-and-trade, opposed Obamacare, is all but silent on GITMO, and the Gang of 14 left more appellate seats open for Obama to fill.

But when McCain is right he is really right, they say. What?

Meanwhile, McCain and his operatives have spent millions digging up dirt on Hayworth -- not corruption, not unethical activity, but dirt that will show him to be a hypocrite. Now, this is funny. McCain is flipping and flopping all over the place, but we are to be moved by Hayworth's appearance in that infomercial where he is pushing free federal grants. Until yesterday, McCain's official website was informing visitors how to secure all kinds of government grants and contracts and loans. I posted it on this site. Now they've apparently hidden it somewhere on his website's back pages. There have also been other commercials pointing out Hayworth supported all kinds of pork.

I have never had to spend summer after summer trying to rally listeners to defeat any of Hayworth's bills or ideas. Three years ago McCain nearly succeeded in destroying our culture with this comprehensive immigration reform disaster. He nearly succeeded in destroying what's left of our free enterprise system with cap-and-trade (his quote about the debate on global warming being over is in my book). McCain has spent more time defending the phony rights of al-Qaeda terrorists than John Kerry. And anyone who actually earns a living will find his taxes going up thanks, in part, to a deal Bush was forced to strike thanks to McCain's opposition to a permanent tax rate reduction. And I'm supposed to get all worked up about Hayworth's infomercial?

Meanwhile, where was NRO's endorsement for Sharron Angle in Nevada's GOP primary? How about Mike Lee in Utah? Chuck DeVore in California? Except in obvious cases, such as Florida and Pennsylvania, where is the Buckley activism for which he was known and which helped launch the conservative movement? Is this what it has become? Endorsing McCain of all people? Perhaps NRO endorsed others. Maybe I missed them. And I am certainly willing to be corrected.

****UPDATE****

Oh yes, and then there's McCain-Feingold, the greatest assault on free political speech since King George's Red Coats controlled the place. But we should be concerned, above all else, that Hayworth was part of a stupid infomercial peddling free grant information. That should be our biggest concern. How absurd!

Video of Jim Deakin for Senate: Says he has 20% support when he's polling only 7%

Jim Deakin, the spoiler candidate in the U.S. Senate race, taking votes away from JD Hayworth which will essentially hand the election over to McCain, explains at an LD meeting that he is polling at 20%, because he counts the 7% he is polling in the Rasmussen poll, PLUS 14% from other polls. Doesn't add up.

HAYWORTH RELEASES THREE VIDEOS DISPUTING McCAIN CHARGES
Phoenix, AZ (JUNE 28) - U.S. Senate Candidate J.D. Hayworth (R-AZ) today released three videos on his website debunking charges made by Sen. John McCain this month.

"The Senator has spent most of this month and untold millions of dollars on television, radio and direct mail attacking me," Hayworth said. "I thought it was about time his double talk was replaced by my straight talk."

McCain, whose top political advisors are high-paid Washington, D.C., lobbyists, has attacked Hayworth for his one-time work for a friend who needed help with a problem in Congress.

McCain, who voted for $150 billion in earmarks last year, has criticized Hayworth for supporting projects that benefited Arizona.

McCain, who has taken more than $11,000 in political contributions from a shady businessman, has criticized Hayworth for a 30 minute video presentation he did for the same company and for which Hayworth has apologized.

"I hope voters will take the time to hear the truth directly from me by going to www.jdforsenate.com and not rely on the lies behind the slick, misleading campaign ads of Sen. McCain," Hayworth said.

Roundtable Politics interviews Doug Ducey, candidate for State Treasurer

Great interview with Doug Ducey Monday night. Was pleased to see he opposed the Prop. 100 18% sales tax increase, supports SB1070, and considers himself both a social conservative and a fiscal conservative.

SB 1070 Sponsor Endorses Andrew Thomas, Criticizes Horne’s Amnesty Plan

SB 1070 Sponsor Russell Pearce Endorses Andrew Thomas For AZ Attorney General

Criticizes Opponent For Amnesty Plan

PHOENIX, ARIZONA. JUNE 29, 2010.  Much like Senator Russell Pearce, former Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas is known for his tough on crime policies and dedication to stopping illegal immigration.  Today, Senator Pearce endorsed Andrew Thomas in his race for Arizona Attorney General.

"I am enthusiastically endorsing Andrew Thomas for Attorney General,” Senator Pearce said.  “He was one of the first to endorse Senate Bill 1070 and actually worked with me on it.  His opponent, Tom Horne, has publicly supported giving amnesty to illegal immigrants who graduate from high school and pass a test.  Andrew Thomas opposes amnesty.  And he's worked closely with Sheriff Arpaio and me to support many effective crackdowns on illegal immigration.  To secure our borders please vote for my friend Andy Thomas for Attorney General."

Thomas has also been endorsed by notable Arizona law enforcement leaders including Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Graham County Sheriff P.J. Allred, Yavapai County Sheriff Steve Waugh, Mohave County Attorney Matthew Smith, Mohave County Sheriff Tom Sheahan, Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever, Phoenix Law Enforcement Association, Arizona Police Association and former Arizona Attorney General and NRA President Bob Corbin.  Former Arizona State Senator Jonathan Paton and Arizona Right to Life have endorsed Thomas as well.

During Thomas' time in office, crime rates plummeted.  The 19 percent drop is more than twice the national rate of decline, in despite of an 11 percent increase in the county's population during that time.  The illegal immigrant population has dropped by anywhere from 18 percent (Dept. of Homeland Security estimate) to 30 percent (Center for Immigration Studies estimate). Like the fall in crime rates, this dramatic decline in illegal immigration is far greater than the average in the rest of the nation.

Thomas has a track record of successfully defending illegal immigration crackdowns in our courts, including his successful efforts to prosecute illegal immigrants for conspiring to violate the state's human-smuggling law and to defend Prop 200's voter ID requirements and the employer-sanctions law, which he defended along with the Attorney General's Office.

If elected Attorney General Thomas has pledged to expand that office's prosecutions of illegal immigrants under the state's human smuggling laws. The office is not currently pursuing such prosecutions.

Thomas is married with four children.  He is a graduate of Harvard Law School.  Prior to serving as Maricopa County Attorney, Thomas served as an assistant attorney general for Arizona, deputy counsel and criminal justice policy advisor to the Governor, special assistant to the Director of the Arizona Department of Corrections, and a deputy county attorney.

Schweikert for Congress: Less than 48 hours!

Schweikert for US Congress

We are well on our way to reaching our critical fundraising goal for the end of the month.
2010 is the year we elect a real conservative to Congress - - a proven fighter for taxpayers.
This election is the choice between freedom and big government.
Harry Mitchell and Nancy Pelosi don’t understand individual liberty and limited government; their misguided policies have failed to grow the economy; they’ve failed to secure our border and defend Arizona; and they’re not going to say no to the special interest lobbyists.
We must not abandon the fight for our shared principles.
I’ve championed conservative reforms and tackled the big spenders.
I’ve restored revenue and reduced the size of government.
I’ve fought corruption - - including that within my own party.
This election truly is the battle cry for freedom in Arizona’s Fifth Congressional District.
We have the choice to take back our government from the extreme left and I will fight tooth-and-nail to secure our border and restore economic freedom.
I’m the fighter you can trust.
Thank you so much for everything you do to help our campaign,
David

McCAIN MUST COME CLEAN ON LOBBYIST TIES

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEWS RELEASE

DEBATE COUNTDOWN DAY 16:
McCain Must Come Clean on Lobbyist Ties
Phoenix, AZ (JUNE 30) - U.S. Senate Candidate J.D. Hayworth (R-AZ) today said Sen. John McCain must make public his close ties to all the Washington, D.C., lobbyists who are running his current campaign and who have profited from his 28 years in Congress.

"In just 16 days, we will finally face each other in two, time-limited debates, so it is best the incumbent defends his past now so we can discuss our plans for Arizona's future," Hayworth said.

"I don't have multi-million dollar lobbyists hanging on my coat sleeves bankrolling my campaign, but John does," he said. "The voters deserve to know just which K-Street lobbyists are depending on a McCain win. It's certainly not the people of Arizona."

According to Time Magazine, 19 fundraisers and advisors were high-priced lobbyists for Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac and have benefited from the Senator's long tenure in Congress.

McCain campaign manager Mark Buse has made $460,000 lobbying on behalf of troubled Freddie.

McCain's long-time consultant Charlie Black has made more than $820,000, likewise, lobbying for Freddie.

Rick Davis, McCain's long-time confidant, ran his failed Presidential campaign and worked for a third party organization that paid him hundreds of thousands of dollars to fight off regulations for Freddie and Fannie.

According to recent news reports, the failures of Freddie and Fannie have cost taxpayers $145 billion, and the Congressional Budget Office estimates the losses could balloon to $400 billion. If housing prices fall, experts caution the cost to taxpayers could hit $1 trillion.

"The insider world that John lives in with his lobbying friends must first be disclosed completely. Then, if he is the true reformer he says he is, he should sever those ties immediately," Hayworth said. "John McCain says he went to Washington to change things, but Washington has changed him. He's been there too long and become too friendly with the insiders who pull the strings. It's time to thank him for his service and welcome him home."

Hayworth said McCain needs to provide his constituents with a complete list of lobbyists who have benefited from his service in Congress before the July debates.

"Arizonans need to know if Sen. McCain is working for us, or working for the lobbyists who finance and run his campaigns," Hayworth said.

Thanks to YOU - We did it!
But J.D. Still Needs YOUR help
Last week, J.D. set out to complete his Second Million Dollar Drive - and expected this ambitious goal to take a full week.  But thanks to supporters like you, J.D. surpassed his goal in less than 6 days!  While today's message was intended to be the "final push" to reach the second million dollars - it is now a thank you!

The outpouring of support has been tremendous.  Since the first message was sent out a week ago, over $130,000 has been raised.  J.D. will now have the funds to start running television advertisements.  However, $1 million is just not enough to combat the constant barrage of attack ads from McCain.

Million Dollar Drive Thermometer
Generous supporters like you have made it possible for J.D. to start running television ads, but J.D. still needs money to sustain a viable advertising campaign through the months of July and August.  McCain has already spent over $4 million on television and radio advertising - all in the "preseason."

The "regular season" is just beginning - and your help is needed TODAY.  J.D. needs to raise as much money as possible by midnight tonight, June 30th before filing the Federal Elections Commission quarterly report.  By donating TODAY to help J.D. run ads you can send a clear message to Washington that Americans have had ENOUGH with liberal Republicans and liberal politics.

McCain's seemingly desperate tactics show that he sees J.D. as a serious threat.  McCain is losing ground in the polls, putting J.D. within striking distance of a grassroots-based victory in the Arizona Republican Primary on August 24th!

Time is of the essence.  Please make a $25, $50, or $100 contribution TODAY to help J.D. mount a credible television campaign before early voting begins on July 29th through the primary on August 24th.

Please send checks to:
J.D. Hayworth 2010, Inc.
P.O. Box 28604
Scottsdale, Arizona 85255

P.S. You can also help J.D. raise needed advertising dollars by forwarding this message to 3 of your friends or sharing this message on Facebook.

Jesse Hernandez from Latino Republicans to appear on Fox News' Hannity tonight discussing 6-vote decision for Latinos

Jesse Hernandez, president of the Arizona Latino Republican Association (ALRA), will appear on the Hannity show tonight at 6pm PST/AZ  to discuss the outrageous New York federal court decision giving Latinos 6 votes (technically the decision gave everyone in a 50% Latino district 6 votes, which had the effect of giving a higher percentage of Latinos 6 votes than non-Latinos). ALRA denounced the decision recently in a press statement.

FRIDAY, JUNE 25
NEWS RELEASE

WHERE'S McCAIN?
Senator Absent Over Mass Amnesty Complaint
Phoenix, AZ (JUNE 25) - U.S. Senate Candidate J.D. Hayworth (R-AZ) today saidSen. John McCain is conspicuously absent while other Senators are questioning President Obama's behind-the-scenes maneuvering to unilaterally grant amnesty to illegal aliens.

"Eight Republican Senators wrote the White House questioning President Obama's nefarious effort to determine if the Department of Homeland Security can unilaterally grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, but Sen. McCain was not one of them," Hayworth said.

Fox News reports that Obama is looking at a way to grant amnesty without having to go through congressional debate.

"This is wrong," Hayworth said. "Sen. McCain's silence on this issue speaks volumes. Where is he? He says he has a day job that keeps him too busy to debate me very often, but apparently he was not in his office when his colleagues circulated this letter asking for signatures of support."

Hayworth said Arizona voters expect their senior Senator to be a vocal advocate in the battle against amnesty for illegal aliens.

"He runs ads about building the 'danged fence' but he won't sign a letter questioning America's commitment to securing the border," Hayworth said. "It's just more of John McCain talking out of both sides of his mouth and wanting it both ways."

JD Hayworth: 60 Days to Victory!

60 Days to Victory!
On Wednesday, we announced our week long drive to raise the final $100,000 in the Tax Day to TV Time Million Dollar Drive.  Thanks to your generous support, J.D. has raised $62,896 in the past 48 hours!  The enthusiasm at town halls, TEA Party meetings and home gatherings has been truly amazing.

Million Dollar Drive Thermometer
This is history in the making and your contribution is the catalyst for electing a true consistent conservative to the United States Senate.

Every dollar contributed to the campaign from here on out is being used to buy  television advertisements so J.D. can get his consistent conservative message to the voters of Arizona.

As I am sure you have heard - John McCain is sparing no expense on negative, personal attacks on J.D. in an attempt to draw attention away from McCain's progressive record.   That's why J.D. needs your continued help to reach the campaign goal of raising $1 million dollars by June 30, 2010.

Undoubtedly, J.D. is up against the most well-known incumbent in the country who has spent nearly twice as much on negative campaign ads than J.D. has raised.  Yet, despite McCain's constant barrage of attacks, J.D. remains in striking distance of a monumental victory in the Arizona Republican Primary on August 24th!

Time is of the essence.  Please make a $25, $50, or $100 contribution TODAY to help J.D. get his consistent conservative message to the Arizona voters BEFORE early voting begins on July 29th.

Please send checks to:
J.D. Hayworth 2010, Inc.
