WHERE'S McCAIN? Senator Absent Over Mass Amnesty Complaint |
Phoenix, AZ (JUNE 25) - U.S. Senate Candidate J.D. Hayworth (R-AZ) today saidSen. John McCain is conspicuously absent while other Senators are questioning President Obama's behind-the-scenes maneuvering to unilaterally grant amnesty to illegal aliens. "Eight Republican Senators wrote the White House questioning President Obama's nefarious effort to determine if the Department of Homeland Security can unilaterally grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, but Sen. McCain was not one of them," Hayworth said. Fox News reports that Obama is looking at a way to grant amnesty without having to go through congressional debate. "This is wrong," Hayworth said. "Sen. McCain's silence on this issue speaks volumes. Where is he? He says he has a day job that keeps him too busy to debate me very often, but apparently he was not in his office when his colleagues circulated this letter asking for signatures of support." Hayworth said Arizona voters expect their senior Senator to be a vocal advocate in the battle against amnesty for illegal aliens. "He runs ads about building the 'danged fence' but he won't sign a letter questioning America's commitment to securing the border," Hayworth said. "It's just more of John McCain talking out of both sides of his mouth and wanting it both ways." |
