McCain supporters inaccurately attack Maricopa County GOP for hosting JD at event

The Lost Dutchman has the scoop. Apparently, some McCain supporters protested having JD Hayworth speak at the Lincoln Day Luncheon this Saturday, claiming it would act as an endorsement of McCain. It is no secret that Maricopa County Republican Party leadership has a big problem with McCain due to his liberal record (his most recent annual rating from the American Conservative Union was a 63, practically Democrat territory, and he voted for several of the billion dollar pork bailouts). However, what the McCain fans failed to realize is that McCain himself has been a guest speaker numerous times at other GOP Lincoln Day Luncheons around the state, including one put on by the Pima County GOP in Tucson in February after JD had officially entered the race.
