Tea Party Immigration Coalition Announces Support of
Republican J.D. Hayworth for U.S. Senator from Arizona

July 20, 2010 - The Tea Party Immigration Coalition (TPIC) today announced its support of Republican candidate J. D. Hayworth for U.S. Senate, Arizona.

TPIC is a coalition of tea party members and immigration reform groups from various states, working in tandem with local, state, and national organizations and policy makers, to effect enforcement of immigration laws.

The TPIC, stated, "In a side by side comparison of all three candidates, J.D. Hayworth's past record and current position on illegal immigration reform resulted in unanimous support by all groups included in our coalition."

Marge Adelsberger, founder of Pennsylvanians for Immigration Control and Enforcement (PA4ICE), a TPIC member group, stressed the importance of the organizations' endorsement of Hayworth.  "TPIC carefully evaluates all candidates and, working with local Tea Party and immigration activist groups in a designated area, we determine which candidates best mirror our mission statement.  Of the three Republicans running for the U.S. Senate in Arizona, we have determined J.D. Hayworth to be the superior candidate," said Adelsberger.

Diane Reimer, TPIC's spokesperson, expressed concern that candidates in several states claim Tea Party support yet fail to identify the specific Party's name.  By committing to a formal public announcement the members are of the belief that it will document TPIC's support of J.D. Hayworth as the preferred candidate for the U.S. Senate from Arizona.  See, NumbersUSA's Candidate Comparison Grid for U.S. Senate race in Arizona here: http://www.numbersusa.com/content/elections/races/southwest/arizona/2010-arizona-us-senate-primary.html
