Congressman Trent Franks: The People of Haiti are in My Prayers

Congressman Trent Franks (AZ-02) today released the following statement regarding Tuesday’s 7.0-magnitude earthquake near Port-au-Prince, Haiti:

It is impossible to truly comprehend the full scope of the overwhelming catastrophe that has taken place in Haiti. Countless families have been devastated and hundreds of thousands of Haitian citizens now find themselves directionless and in shock, in light of so many hard-earned livelihoods all across the region having been so unexpectedly destroyed.

As the people of Haiti begin the long, complex recovery process, they can rest assured in knowing that they are not alone, as evidenced by the remarkable outpouring of support from every corner of this country.

The people of Haiti, and the many people across the globe who have loved ones in Haiti, including the Haitian-American communities here in the United States, remain in my prayers.

“I encourage every individual to seek ways of providing comfort, support, and aid to the people of Haiti, as they continue to experience indescribable suffering and loss.”
