AZ taxpayer activists return from AFP Summit in Washington, DC

Note - IC blogged about the conference on the IC Blog (here, here, here, here, and here) and Pete Leslie blogged about it on Sonoran Alliance (here, here, and here).

Dear Arizona Taxpayer,

Our Arizona delegation has returned from AFP’s Defending the American Dream Summit in Washington, DC. It was a wonderful event, with over 1,800 registered attendees and loads of great speakers and break-out training sessions. We aim to recreate that magic here in Phoenix on Saturday, December 6th, when we hold our state Summit, including our Cost of Hot Air balloon launch and our fourth annual Friend of the Taxpayer awards luncheon. So be sure to save that date!

When the Washington Times covered our rally at the US Capitol on Friday afternoon, the reporter quoted your Arizona director’s comments about the recent turmoil in the financial markets:

“One thing the AFP does not want to see when a new administration takes office is a new New Deal, which would do more harm than good, Phoenix resident Tom Jenney said. ‘Government has created a giant mess,’ he said, adding that more government is not the solution.”

For the record, I did NOT suggest that a new New Deal would do ANY good at all... The whole news story is available online here:
