Filing Chapter 7 bankruptcy in Arizona? What about foreclosure?

I am a bankruptcy attorney in Arizona, and frequently clients ask me about saving their home from foreclosure. The federal government introduced a new program on October 24 which allows homeowners who owe more than their house is worth to take advantage of new low interest rates. To qualify, homeowners cannot have more than 20 percent equity in their home, must be current on their mortgage payments with no late payments in the past six months and no more than one late payment in the past 12 months. For more information, click here.

If your home has already been foreclosed on, and you think it was done wrongfully, the federal government has a new program for investigating these situations. There are a few requirements, including that the home was in foreclosure during 2009 or 2010. For more information, click here.
