AZ Right to Life: Two prolife bills pass House

The Arizona House of Representatives passed two separate landmark pro-life bills today, each posting a roll call of 37-19. Both bills need Senate approval before landing on Gov. Brewer's desk.

Aimed at protecting innocent human life, HB2564 "Abortion Consent Act" will establish a 24-hour waiting period to obtain an abortion, protect the conscience of healthcare workers, solidify parental consent, and prevent non-medical-doctors from performing abortions. House Bill 2400 "Partial-Birth Abortion Ban" would codify into state law the federal ban on partial-birth abortion.

Arizona Right to Life commends the leadership of the Center for Arizona Policy & Arizona Catholic Conference for steering these bills toward swift House approval.
