(1) Get Ready. Set. Go! |
Despite our blessed Arizona temperatures, summer's over. It's time to "get ready" and "set" for the coming months. Over the next 14 months, our nation will engage in our most critical task as citizens - electing our next President. The next President will face many critical issues directly impacting our families. Will we have a U.S. Supreme Court that interprets the law or makes the law? Will our nation be secure from the Islamic terrorist and other threats? Will our preborn children be protected and finally granted their right to life? When my husband and I visited the site of the D-Day invasion in Normandy last month, I was awestruck by the bravery of the men who fought for our freedom against Nazi Germany. I also pondered whether our nation today truly understands the threats we face from Islamic terrorism. For the next 14 months, I hope you will join us as we pray for our nation's and our state's future. Pray as we learn more about the presidential candidates and their positions on the issues critical for our families. Pray as we elect new leaders for Arizona. To get started, mark your calendars and register today at azpolicy.org for key events this fall. |
(2) September 26: CAP Fall Kick-off Luncheon |
Join us to hear Marvin Olasky talk about "Enduring for Things that Matter." One of the leading Christian thinkers and writers of our time, Olasky is the editor of WORLD magazine, vice-president for academic affairs at King's College in New York City, and a professor at the University of Texas. Take a moment to read today's Townhall column by Dr. Olasky about a worldwide Muslim offensive on freedom of speech and the threat posed to our own freedoms of religion and speech. Luncheon seating is limited. Sign-up today. |
(3) October 18-21: Washington Briefing |
On October 18-21, join me and our allies from Family Research Council, Focus on the Family, and the Alliance Defense Fund for the second annual Washington Briefing. Featuring numerous national experts on the key family issues of our day, the briefing will include a straw poll on the presidential election. The presidential candidates have been invited as well and I would expect several of them to be there speaking in person. The gala dinner will honor Dr. James Dobson. Check out the details. (Airfare's often less expensive if you fly into Baltimore with ground transportation into D.C. being relatively inexpensive.) |
(4) November 3: Bioethics Century - Facing our Future |
Our website now has a special message from Joni Eareckson Tada about the importance of this conference. |
