100,000 Signatures Presented to Sheriff: Supporters Demand DOJ Prove Its Case Against Arizona Sheriff's Office

Illegal Immigration Opponents and Media Criticism
Jettison Support of Sheriff Arpaio

(Phoenix, AZ) In a move not seen in the 20 years Sheriff Joe Arpaio has been in
office, a grass roots movement in support of Sheriff Arpaio reaches a crescendo
tomorrow when organizers present over 100,000 petitions from supporters of the
Sheriff.
Those organizers then plan to take their voices to Washington DC demanding
that the Department of Justice prove its case against Arpaio which alleges racial
discrimination against Hispanics or stop the investigation altogether.
Organizers plan to present the documents to Sheriff Arpaio tomorrow,
Wednesday February 7, 2012 at 2PM inside the Sheriff’s Office at 100 West
Washington, 19th floor. Media is invited to witness and organizers have agreed to
be interviewed.
Citizens belonging to this grass roots movement who called themselves
‘Grassroots Nation’ have followed the situation and say they feel the federal
government has orchestrated an attack on the Sheriff for Obama’s political gain,
who hopes to ingratiate himself to the Hispanic American voting block.

In a quote taken from the petition, organizers say, “’Grassroots Nation’ finds
this baseless, politically motivated attack on Sheriff Joe to be reprehensible and
are countering this effort through this letter initiative.”
