Arizona Life Times
Internet Edition
September 2008
Dear Friend of Life,
In this special post-conference edition of the Arizona Life Times we will take a look at three ways this Fall you can become involved in the fight for life. Our speakers last weekend at the Arizona Right to Life State Conference were inspirational and showed us how the end to abortion is near. From Stephanie Gray's strategies to making abortion unthinkable, to Allan Parker's moving testimonies of post-abortive women, to David Bereit's bold 40 Days for Life, we have seen how the tide will turn. In addition, talks from Dr. William Toffler and Nik Nikas showed that we are successfully holding back the spread of euthanasia and embryonic stem cell research, but more still needs to be done! From medical, social, legal, and religious perspectives, we saw how everyone can contribute to building a Culture of Life in America.

Pro-life Training Seminar
Are you tired of conversations about abortion that turn into pointless shouting matches? Do you want to move beyond hurt feelings and learn how to compassionately defend the pro-life viewpoint when talking to friends, family, and co-workers? Then join the ASU Newman Center as we host Arizona Right to Life's Pro-life Leader Training Seminar on Saturday September 27th from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Through moving video presentations, expert testimonies, and dynamic role-play exercises, you will learn how to confidently defend your pro-life beliefs. Don't miss an opportunity to learn how in a loving, Christ-like way you can witness the Gospel of life to others and take practical steps to defend life in your own community. There is a $10 registration fee, which includes the price of lunch and a 90-page pro-life leader workbook for you to take home. To RSVP for the September 27th pro-life leader seminar email azrtl@azrtl.org or call 602-285-0063.
Volunteers Needed for The Arizona State Fair Pro-life Booth
One resounding theme of our State Conference was the need for pro-lifers to take an individual responsibility for ending abortion, euthanasia, and all other threats to innocent human life. One great way to do this to volunteer to man our pro-life booth at the Arizona State Fair this October. We need approximately 150 volunteers to host our booth for one month and give pro-life literature and gracious witness to hundreds of thousands of fairgoers. Please contact Arizona Right to Life if you want to offer up three hours of your time this fall to impact thousands of people and save lives. Last year at least one baby we know of was saved as a result of our booth and countless other visitors were surely impacted by our compassionate and friendly volunteers. Email azrtl@azrtl.org or call 602-285-0063 if you want to set foot in the public square and be voice for truth and life.
40 Days for Life Begins This Month!
After hosting David Bereit as a keynote speaker for our conference you can be sure that attendees were fired up to participate in the local 40 Days for Life campaign. David related testimonies to us of abortion rates in cities dropping 6, 14, and even 28% as a result of the faithful witness and prayers of 40 Days for Life volunteers. Will you consider joining the movement to help end abortion in America by volunteering one hour to stand in prayer before an abortion mill? Will you be that witness of hope that patrons and abortion mill workers can see as a living testimony of God's love and forgiveness? If you feel called, Arizona Right to Life encourages you to contact one of the following Arizona 40 Days for Life leaders to begin your involvement in this wonderful campaign.Phoenix - 4417 N 7th Ave: Email Beth Straley at bethvs-40daysforlife@cox.net or call 602-814-0741; or email Kelly Townsend at ChristianChildbirth@yahoo.com or call 480-295-9438Tempe - 1250 E Apache Blvd: Email Mary Piorkowski, mp40days4life@earthlink.net or call 602-299-3866; or email Debbi Gambert at deb_40daysforlife@earthlink.net or call 480-705-0323Glendale - 8822 N 43rd Ave: Email Curt Gustafson at curtg123@yahoo.com or call623-329-7244Tucson - Contact Sunny Turner at 520-908-9765 or Ann Downey at aedowney@earthlink.net Flagstaff - Contact Mary Waechtler through email at mrwaechter@gmail.com
