Salmon for Congress Displays Strong Fundraising Start

Campaign raises over $172,000 in 10 weeks, continues to build momentum

EAST VALLEY – Former Congressman and candidate for Arizona’s 6th Congressional District Matt Salmon announced today that his campaign ended the second quarter of 2011 with $172,288 in total contribution receipts, leaving his campaign with $155,744 cash on hand at the beginning of the third quarter. Salmon released the following statement regarding his fundraising totals:
"Since announcing my intention to return to Congress in mid-April, I have been deeply moved and grateful for the enthusiasm my candidacy has generated. Every day, my record of representing conservative values continues to resonate with the voters, city leaders and small business owners in my district. I am humbled by their financial support and their commitments to ensure my campaign has the necessary resources to communicate its message to every voter."

Matt Salmon was first elected to the United States Congress in 1994 and served until 2000, honoring his term limit pledge.  A proud fiscal conservative, Salmon was rated in the top five among all 535 members of the House and Senate by Citizen’s Against Government Waste for all six years he was in office.  He is a lifetime member of the NRA with an A+ rating and also earned a 100% rating by the National Right to Life.  He was also the proud recipient of the American Cancer Society’s "Top National Elected Official" award.
