Public Utility Attempting to Buy Arizona Elections

What’s happening in Arizona right now is sufficient to make every conservative shudder.  And I’m not talking about the border crisis. I am talking about the state’s largest regulated utility, Arizona Public Service (APS). APS is literally attempting to purchase its regulators in the state’s August 26th Republican primary (early ballots go out this week). If successful, the implications are national, especially for fledgling solar power, and crony capitalism will have a new model that will boomerang on the Republican Party.

First, a little background. APS has concluded that too much energy choice via rooftop solar is bad for it. The more people turn their lights off, making an energy choice of rooftop solar, the less money the publicly-traded electric monopoly makes. In sunny Arizona, people are understandably going solar as costs have come down – even though subsidies have gone away – by the tens of thousands. As their energy costs have skyrocketed in some areas, churches, schools, seniors, rich, poor, you name them -  everyone is considering a switch to the less-costly solar.
Last year, APS attempted to get the all-Republican Arizona Corporation Commission, its regulators, to pass a massive new tax that would make going with rooftop solar too expensive. By a 3-to-2 vote, the commissioners rejected the APS plan to “tax the sun,” but still passed a much smaller tax.
Well, APS didn’t like that very much. Who were these Republicans after all, to discover that energy choice should be much like school and health care choice?

Fast forward to this election year. Two seats on the Arizona Corporation Commission are open.  APS has found at least a couple of dark money front groups – fooling the Arizona Free Enterprise Club as one, an organization that was started by legitimate conservatives – through which to route ratepayer money to, in order to install its two favored Republican candidates: the inexperienced and Second Amendment enemy Doug Little and the lobbyist largesse-loving State Representative Tom Forese. Another group, mysteriously named “Arizona 2014,”  tellingly will not disclose its donors. "Save Our Future Now" has issued hit pieces against Parker - a whopping $82,000 to oppose him in what is usually considered a fairly low-level race in Arizona. Even more telling, APS has not denied donating to the groups this year, even though it denied donating to groups like that in previous elections.
The government-regulated monopoly APS is spending mightily to own and control its regulators. This is not the way American democracy is supposed to work, especially when Arizona Republicans have two other good conservative Republican choices in this race.

One is conservative African-American Vernon Parker. Parker served in both Bush administrations, and as mayor of Paradise Valley, Ariz., and was the area’s 2012 GOP nominee for Congress. His story is an amazing American one. Born into a neighborhood of drugs and crime, he escaped it to become one of the Republican Party’s most inspirational leaders. He is running on a diverse team with former Arizona State Representative Lucy Mason. She once chaired the House Energy Committee, and hails from Republican stronghold Yavapai County in conservative northern rural Arizona. Both oppose the new taxes on rooftop solar that APS wants. Aren’t Republicans supposed to stand against new taxes? Parker and Mason do. Little and Forese do not.

The APS-funded campaign against Parker and Mason tries to tie them to President Obama. Laughable doesn’t even begin to describe such a connection. I know Parker personally and he is very conservative and has no love for Obama - uhhh, he was a Bush appointee.

There are terrible problems with APS currently. Due to the virtual monopolies it owns, some residents with nothing more than dirt yards report water bills as high as their electric bills.

What we do know is this: In Arizona, two conservative Republicans are offering voters not only terrific Republican bona fides, but a commitment to taking on the high-cost energy monopoly.

If APS prevails, using ratepayer money to defeat potential regulators it doesn’t like, it will set freedom and our party back to the 1900s, while advancing crony capitalism to a whole new level. APS realizes that a black conservative Republican like Vernon Parker is a real threat to entrenched liberalism, socialism and corporate subsidies, and so it will stop at nothing to defeat him. APS isn't a "friend" of Republican principles, and the sooner we reject its government subsidized-monopolies, the better to defeat this subtle but ingenuous attack on conservative principles. This type of enemy of liberty will stop at nothing in order to defeat and destroy an intelligent, principled, black conservative.

Andrew Thomas for Governor contrasts his record with other candidates

Jared Day: Andrew Thomas has emerged as the Tea Party candidate for governor

The race for Governor in Arizona is very crowded and beginning to heat up. Of the six candidates, Andrew Thomas has emerged as the leader having gained majority support among the grassroots, conservative base and Tea Party.

The polls for the Arizona Governor race have been conflicted to say the least, several polls with results matching the agenda they coincide with. However, in the most telling poll up to this point, Andrew Thomas is far ahead of the other five opponents. The results of the unannounced straw poll held at the regular meeting of the Maricopa County Republican Party leadership on June 5th were recently released. Here are the results.
Andrew Thomas: 40 % (16 votes)
Ken Bennett: 17.5 % (7 votes)
Frank Riggs: 17.5 % (7 votes)
Doug Ducey: 12.5 % (5 votes)
Christine Jones: 5 % (2 votes)
Scott Smith: 0 % (0 votes)
Andrew Thomas has always been a target of the liberal media. He has brought this upon himself by being a conservative warrior, taking on the establishment and stopping illegal immigration. In other words, he’s disliked because he has done the right thing.
That’s exactly what Arizona needs right now. We need a warrior that will stand up to Washington bureaucrats and not be bullied by liberal activist judges. Arizona has passed some highly effective laws over the last several years, many of them overturned by a federal court. Andrew Thomas vows to end that injustice.
Back in March I reported on Arizona passing a law that required an ID to vote, makes sense, right? Last month the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals overturned our law callingit based in “animosity”. Occurrences like this are all too common in Arizona, often being overlooked by the voting public. Andrew Thomas has a proven record of standing up to these higher courts that bully us, even if half of the population is asleep at the wheel.
The video below provides some clips I mashed together from the debate on July 15th at the Community Church of Joy in Glendale, Arizona. They feature Andrew Thomas talking about his past success in stopping illegal immigration, plans to end common core and how he’ll turn around the Arizona economy, attracting jobs to the state.
The excitement was palpable in the small church packed with 700 people. It was energizing.
In today’s America we can be labeled a racist for merely believing we should maintain our borders. Andrew Thomas aired the following campaign ad that now has the moonbats on the left, both in media and government, crying racism. How much more sensitive can we become as a nation? I will not accept being labeled a racist for wanting my country’s border secure.
Here is that campaign ad that is shaking the foundations of so many Arizonans.
Arizona needs a conservative warrior at the helm that won’t sit back and watch our sovereignty be erased.

Invasion of America's Southern Border: Providing Sanctuary for MS-13 Killers

nglsgngs By William R. Hawkins

On Saturday morning, July 19, Katie Pavlich reported on Fox News about a group of Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang members being held in Nogales, Arizona. They are part of the influx of “unaccompanied children” which are causing such chaos along the U.S.-Mexico border.  MS-13 is one of the most violent gangs operating in the United States. It is known for its use of machetes in killing and maiming those who get in its way. According to Pavlich, who has seen the source documents, several of the MS-13 members have admitted to Border Patrol agents that they had engaged in torture, murder, extortion and other criminal acts in their homelands. However, because they are minors, the Border Patrol cannot take any action against them, not even separating them from the other immigrants being processed at the Arizona facility. Most of the “children” coming across the border are teenagers and the prevalence of gang tattoos has been noted.

MS-13 was founded in the U.S. during the 1980s by immigrants fleeing El Salvador’s civil war. MS-13 has over 10,000 members in 46 states, though its strongest groups are in California and Maryland (with extensions into Washington, D.C. and northern Virginia). In 2004, the FBI set up a special MS-13 National Gang Task Force. A 2008 FBI Threat Assessment identified the group as “mostly Salvadoran nationals or first generation Salvadoran-Americans, but also Hondurans, Guatemalans, Mexicans, and other Central and South American immigrants. And according to our recent national threat assessment of this growing, mobile street gang, they could be operating in your community…now or in the near future.” The FBI assessment stated, “MS-13 members engage in a wide range of criminal activity, including drug distribution, murder, rape, prostitution, robbery, home invasions, immigration offenses, kidnapping, carjackings/ auto thefts, and vandalism.” And, “[t]hey often target middle and high school students for recruitment.”

Zack Taylor, a retired Border Patrol agent with over twenty years experience, has stated that MS-13 trains gang members from age 8, including how to be an “assassin.” Though the administration has tried to control media access to the processing centers, enough photos have gotten out to show that these “children” are far from being the cute tykes the liberal press likes to depict.

The FBI’s 2011 Threat Assessment reported, “Sureño gangs, including Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13), 18th Street, and Florencia 13, are expanding faster than other national-level gangs, both in membership and geographically. Twenty states and the District of Columbia report an increase of Sureño migration into their region over the past three years. California has experienced a substantial migration of Sureño gangs into northern California and neighboring states, such as Arizona, Nevada, and Oregon.” The term Sureño refers to gangs with ties to Mexico, Central America and points south. Continued high levels of illegal immigration across the Mexican border only fuels this growth of violent crime in American cities and states.
The current surge of illegal immigrant “children” and families are being called a humanitarian crisis. The trespassers are supposedly fleeing drug gangs, rampant violence and state failure in Central America. This was exactly the same arguments used to justify the acceptance of “refugees” from El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala in the 1980s, which led to the creation of MS-13 in the first place. History is repeating itself. Many of the illegal aliens pouring into the U.S. are not fleeing chaos; they are bringing it with them. Indeed, many are responsible for creating the chaos.

The debate over illegal immigration in the 1980s revolved around the so-called Sanctuary Movement. The liberal Migration Policy Institute tells the story of how “Large-scale migration to the United States from Central America began, as hundreds of thousands of Salvadorans, Guatemalans, and Nicaraguans fled north from civil war, repression, and economic devastation” led to a Left-Right political battle.

The protagonists in the controversy included, on one side, immigrants’ rights lawyers, liberal members of Congress, religious activists, and the refugees themselves. On the other side were President Reagan and his administration, the State Department, the Department of Justice (including the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)), and conservative members of Congress. The first group invoked international human rights and humanitarian and religious principles, while the Reagan administration’s arguments centered on national security and the global fight against Communism.

Though the sanctuary movement has faded from public memory it is still very much alive in left-wing mythology. Pro-amnesty immigration groups are reviving the terminology in support of the new wave of Sureño invaders. The original sanctuary movement had its roots in the Cold War. It attempted to reverse the political influence of refugees fleeing communist tyranny, as in the case of Cuba, Vietnam, Laos and Eastern Europe. The sanctuary movement championed refugees from the failed communist revolutionary movements in Central America, in particular from El Salvador and Guatemala. These were countries with pro-U.S. governments, which the left wanted to portray as “oppressive” and ruled by “death squads.” The movement was closely linked to support for the communist Sandinista regime in Nicaragua. It was a short step from revolution to organized crime; just another form of the forced redistribution of income.
There is still a strong ideological component to the revived campaign. For example, the New Sanctuary Movement of New York City proclaims it is, “standing publicly in solidarity with families and communities resisting detention and deportation in order to stay together. We recognize that unjust global and systemic economic relationships and racism form the basis of the injustices that affect immigrants. We seek reform of United States immigration laws to promote fairness, social and economic justice.” Bringing in another generation of street gangsters, drug pushers and killers under the false rhetoric of providing sanctuary from “violence and oppression” in Central America would be foolish and dangerous. The U.S. has been down this road before and it has been a nightmare. The left remembers the sanctuary movement; the rest of us should as well and prevent its revival.

National Leader in Fight for Secure Border Endorses Andrew Thomas

Anna Gaines, Founder and Chairperson of American Citizens United, has announced her endorsement of Andrew Thomas for Governor.  An Arizonan who immigrated legally from Mexico, Gaines is one of the nation’s most prominent advocates of tougher border security.

In her letter of endorsement, Gaines noted Andrew Thomas’ long-standing support of tough border-security policies.  “I have known him for many years since he was Maricopa County Attorney,” Gaines said.  Thomas has broad experience as a prosecutor and with Latino culture (Gaines noted Andrew’s wife is Hispanic).

Gaines added:

“The most important promise he kept when he was campaigning for County Attorney was to work on illegal immigration issues.  Many people thought at the time, ‘What can he do as a County Attorney, this is a federal issue?’  He kept his word and worked with the Sheriff . . . and the majority of law-abiding citizens who wanted a reduction in crime.”

Gaines’ organization, American Citizens United, has been a fixture at rallies and conferences dedicated to the fight against illegal immigration and our broken borders.

Thomas said he was honored to have Gaines’ support, along with that of most other activists in Arizona concerned about border security.

Former chair of Maricopa GOP Rob Haney explains why he endorses Andrew Thomas for Governor

Seventeen years’ experience dealing with the "Top-Down" direction imposed nationally by the Republican Party elites and in Arizona chiefly by Senators John McCain and Jon Kyl, is why I support Andy Thomas for Governor.  Andy Thomas has a proven track record of supporting and defending the U.S. Constitution and the Republican Party Platform, and he carries the arrows and battle scars that come with that fight.

I have served as a precinct committeeman, State and County Member-at-Large, two terms as Legislative District 11 Chairman and two terms as Maricopa County Chairman.  When I stood up and exposed elected Republican officials for not following the Republican Platform or the U.S Constitution, I was attacked by the McCain led Republican Establishment.  No effort was spared by this group to silence me and others who dared to challenge the McCain ruling cabal. This cabal consists of the politicians, Chambers of Commerce (business owners who depended on the cheap labor of illegal aliens to staff their operations while we pay through our taxes for their benefits), columnists, radio hosts, lobbyists, bloggers, the "Interfaith-Social Justice" liberal class, and the agenda driven liberal lawyer class.

Maricopa GOP straw poll: 40% for Andrew Thomas for Governor, 17.5% for next closest opponent

In the most meaningful straw poll to date of Republicans in Arizona, Andrew Thomas won by a wide margin over his six opponents in the race for Governor.

The unannounced straw poll was held at the regular monthly meeting of the Maricopa County Republican Party leadership on June 5.  Below are the results:

Andrew Thomas:      40 % (16 votes)

Ken Bennett:           17.5 % (7 votes)

Frank Riggs:            17.5 % (7 votes)

Doug Ducey:            12.5 % (5 votes)

Christine Jones:        5 % (2 votes)

Scott Smith:             0 % (0 votes)

Al Melvin:                 0 % (0 votes)

Andrew Thomas said, “I am honored to won this straw poll and by such a margin.”  He added, “These are real votes, done by secret ballot, by Republican leaders—some of the most engaged and informed voters in the state.  They will have, in me, a conservative warrior as Governor.”

Tom Morrissey, past State GOP chair, endorses Andrew Thomas for Governor

Tom Morrissey, Immediate Past Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party, has endorsed Andrew Thomas for Governor.

Morrissey, who served as state Republican Party Chairman from 2008 to 2012, praised Thomas and urged voters to cast their ballots for him.

Morrissey said, “I support this great man and urged him to run for Governor.  Andrew Thomas is, by far, the leader we have been hoping would arise.”

“I am honored to receive this endorsement from Tom Morrissey, who was an outstanding and solid conservative during his time as Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party,” Thomas said.

Morrissey’s endorsement adds to the list of Republican and conservative leaders and activists who have endorsed Thomas.  They include Rob Haney, Immediate Past Chairman of the Maricopa County Republican Party, Anna Gaines, nationally renowned leader of the fight against illegal immigration, and Andrew Costanzo, the floor leader of the Arizona Republican Party’s censure of John McCain in 2014.

Andrew Thomas’ Republican opponents have serious, well-documented issues in their past that cloud their viability in the November general election

Many of Arizona’s most prominent Republican grassroots leaders, whose job it is to elect Republicans, strongly support Andrew Thomas’ candidacy.  Read some of their endorsements under “News" on his website.

Andrew Thomas’ Republican opponents have serious, well-documented issues in their past that cloud their viability in the November general election.  There are legitimate and important questions about their past conduct and leadership.  In contrast, anyone who takes a few minutes to read the “Attacks on Andrew” page of this website—something a large percentage of voters will do at some point—will see very clearly the courage Andrew has shown throughout his career.  Political and moral courage is what we need, now more than ever, to tackle the major challenges facing Arizona.

The race for Governor is wide-open.  Andrew Thomas is well positioned to win.  Why not elect a real conservative who will secure the border and won’t sell out and break his campaign promises right after the election?  Andrew Thomas is the conservative warrior we need.

Crossover appeal for Andrew Thomas for Governor from Independents, Libertarians and Democrats

The same is true for the general election against the Democrats.  An independent poll done in April of this year by Public Policy Polling showed that all Republican candidates were within the margin of error against the Democratic candidate for Governor.  One candidate who has spent approximately $1 million in advertising, and who, unlike Andrew Thomas, has not been attacked for leading the fight in the immigration wars, was only one point closer to the Democrat than Andrew Thomas.

While the vast majority of those contributing to his campaign are Republicans, a large percentage of Andrew Thomas' campaign contributions came from registered Independents, Democrats or Libertarians.  This shows substantial crossover appeal for the general election based on his proven record of stopping illegal immigration.  Almost 10,000 voters signed his nominating petitions, nearly twice the required number.  The Thomas campaign was apparently the only campaign for Governor which collected signatures using only volunteers, not paid signature gatherers.

Andrew Thomas for Governor tied for the lead in a Rocky Mountain poll

Voters understand the political attacks against him by the liberal courts and State Bar were very unfair and proof of his courage.  Public and grassroots support show he is a leading candidate for Governor—for good reason.

In the respected Rocky Mountain Poll taken earlier this year, Andrew Thomas was tied for the lead among Republicans.  All available polling shows him to be a leading candidate.  Thomas retains this standing even though he has been out of office for over four years, has spent no money on advertising, and has drawn fierce attacks for the past decade for helping to lead the fight to secure Arizona’s border.  Andrew Thomas also won the first statewide straw poll in the race, an online poll on the conservative website SonoranAlliance.com (May 2013).  Voters see a fighter in Andrew Thomas, one who will fight for them.

Andrew Thomas for Governor answers to the people, not the political insider class

Polls show Andrew Thomas to be a leading candidate for Governor.  No other candidate can match his strong grassroots support.  His message of being the only candidate who will stop illegal immigration, and who has a record to prove it, sets him apart and well on the road to victory in 2014.

Never the favorite of the political establishment, Andrew answers to the people, not the political insider class.  He has surprised the pundits again and again.  He won very tough races, not once but twice, to serve as Maricopa County Attorney.  There, for five and a half years, he ran the fourth largest prosecutor’s office in America.  In 2010, despite being outspent three to one and attacked relentlessly by the open-border political establishment, Andrew lost the race for Attorney General of Arizona by only one-tenth of one percent of the vote.

Andrew Thomas for Governor strongly opposes Common Core

Children deserve high-quality education at all levels of our educational system.  This means discipline and high standards in classrooms, charter schools and private schools to encourage competition and accountability, and proper resources for technical schools.  As the father of four, including two still in elementary or secondary schools, Andrew Thomas strongly opposes Common Core and has made this position clear throughout his campaign.

Higher education is failing us.  A majority of college graduates cannot get full-time jobs in their area of study after receiving their degree.  Andrew Thomas will provide the tough leadership needed to reform higher education and ensure positive outcomes for college graduates.  This means holding accountable the college bureaucracies that profit from large student enrollments but too often graduate their students to joblessness.

Andrew Thomas for Governor will reform the phony judicial election system

According to polls, voters believe corruption remains a serious problem.  As the Fiesta Bowl scandal recently proved, powerful people in Arizona simply are not prosecuted for public corruption anymore.  The “chilling effect” on prosecutors following the “witch hunt” against Andrew Thomas is real.

Unelected judges enjoy absolute power—never a good recipe for clean government.   To change this, Andrew Thomas will end the charade of phony judicial “elections,” in which judges’ names appear on ballots every two years, voters are kept in the dark about their performance, and all judges are retained in office every election cycle.  Instead, he’ll work to ensure voters are given meaningful, independent information about judges.  That way, voters can make informed choices at election time about whether to retain them.

Crime rates DROPPED when Andrew Thomas was in office

When Andrew Thomas enforced the law, crime rates dropped to historic lows throughout Maricopa County.  Now, crime is up again, rising dramatically compared to crime rates in other states.  Andrew Thomas will make sure criminals receive tough punishment and are taken off our streets, so our crime rates go back down again.

Andrew Thomas for Governor: Repeal Obamacare!

Obamacare has been a disaster.  Insurance premiums have soared.  Innocent people have been kicked off their health-care plans despite President Obama’s promise to the contrary.  The administration changes the rules for Obamacare and our health-care system practically every day, without lawful authority.  As a result, nobody knows the laws and regulations on any given day for our health-care industry, one-sixth of our economy.

Obamacare is collapsing, and Arizona must not prop it up by expanding coverage of its residents.  We will inevitably be handed the bill once federal guarantees to pay for the uninsured become empty IOUs.  Already, state treasuries throughout the country are being depleted by new demands for Medicaid.  Andrew Thomas has spoken out consistently against Obamacare, will strongly urge its repeal, and opposes expansion of this ruinous program.

Andrew Thomas for Governor offers solutions for Arizona's economy

A growing and vibrant Arizona economy flows from making Arizona a uniquely attractive place to live, work, invest and retire.  Our natural beauty and entrepreneurial spirit will remain attractive only as long as Arizonans defend these natural assets from those that would harm them.  That means:

·        Ensuring tough policies to reduce crime and ensure the safety of our neighborhoods, communities and businesses.  Low crime rates are a must so Arizona can continue to attract new business.

·        Securing our border.  Individuals or businesses will think twice before relocating to a state harassed by violence flowing from its southern, foreign neighbor.

·        Keeping taxes and regulations low compared to those of other states.  This competitive advantage for Arizona must be maintained and expanded when possible.

·        Offering creative new ideas to attract jobs to Arizona.

·        Ending the fiscal games played to balance the state budget.  No more leasing the state Capitol building to pay for annual state expenses.

Only Andrew Thomas has consistent courage to challenge Obamacare/Medicaid expansion, Common Core, etc.

Barack Obama and his allies have attacked our most basic freedoms.

Liberal professors and other zealots in higher education, subsidized by federal tax dollars, indoctrinate young people and stifle free political expression by conservatives and others at our colleges and universities.

Gay-rights activists assail anyone who believes in marriage between a man and a woman.

Unelected activist judges, appointed and egged on by Obama, rule by decree, gutting or throwing out our laws against illegal immigration.

Our elected leaders in Arizona push Obamacare/Medicaid expansion and Common Core, as well as other liberal, wrongheaded policy initiatives.

Only Andrew Thomas has shown the consistent courage to speak out and challenge these abuses.  Our next Governor must stand up to liberal bullies by upholding a conservative reform agenda and speaking out to defend our fundamental liberties.

Even liberals admit Andrew Thomas kept his promises to voters

Ten years ago, Andrew Thomas ran for Maricopa County Attorney and promised to stop illegal immigration.  Liberal elites scoffed.  Illegal immigration was a federal problem, they said, not a state issue.  Nobody had ever tackled illegal immigration at the state level before.  And illegal immigration had not been stopped in any meaningful way, by any government agency, for decades.

But Andrew Thomas proved them wrong.  He worked with the legislature to draft new state laws to combat human trafficking and prosecute employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants.  He worked with Sheriff Joe Arpaio in a nationally renowned partnership that sent illegal immigrants fleeing to other states or back to Mexico.

Even his liberal critics admitted he had kept his promise to the voters.  When Andrew Thomas ran for reelection as Maricopa County Attorney, ultraliberal columnist E.J. Montini of the Arizona Republic acknowledged this success.  The title of his column said it all:  “On campaign pledge, there’s no doubting Thomas.”   Andrew Thomas “has kept his campaign promises,” Montini admitted as he predicted, correctly, he would be reelected.  He added that Andrew Thomas “may be the only politician in Arizona—maybe the entire country—who did exactly what he told voters that he would do.”

Obama's Legacy: Border Chaos and the Shredding of American Sovereignty

illglimgrnts
By Andrew Thomas

As a growing string of policy debacles threatens to consign his presidency to the ranks of failures, President Barack Obama has taken bold steps in the area of immigration to transform America and reshape his legacy.  By ignoring the Constitution’s separation of powers and using his executive powers effectively to rewrite the nation’s immigration laws, Obama has helped trigger a torrent of fresh illegal immigration across the nation’s southern border.  In doing so, he has laid claim to the sympathies of liberal historians who dominate the academy and can burnish his image one day, while simultaneously delivering a sharp jab to his detractors.  But he has also called down a cascade of problems for the nation being asked to absorb a seemingly endless stream of new foreign nationals.

What the Obama administration has gingerly called a “humanitarian crisis” is rapidly accelerating.  The ongoing, open rush of Latin Americans scrambling north across an insecure porous border to gain entry into the United States now produces an estimated 35,000 illegal immigrants a month.  The actual numbers cannot be known but could easily be higher.
The Obama administration dismisses talk that the president’s own conduct contributed to the situation.  Obama’s proposals for blanket amnesty for illegal immigrants, through so-called comprehensive immigration reform he has urged Congress to pass, were oft-repeated and heavily publicized throughout Latin America.  Most directly, the president declared, for all intents and purposes, his administration will not enforce federal law and deport illegal immigrants who are juveniles.

One supporter explains why they are voting for Andrew Thomas for Governor

Guess what? Arizona has a Governor race this year with multiple GOP candidates. Let me ask you this: Are you as confident in your choice as I am in my choice that he/she will not buckle as many do after elected on the issue of border security and amnesty for illegal aliens ? Who do they hang around with ? Who do they take advice from? What is their voting record on Republican Platform issues? Choose wisely so you don't have me saying "I told you so" later. (I am not shy) I am convinced watching this race that not all of our candidates understand the importance and responsibility of being one of only 4 Border State Governors. Andrew Thomas does!

Andrew Thomas for Governor will corner the conservative base vote

The most conservative candidate in the race, former Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas, a Harvard Law educated author, has gained the support of the conservative base, Tea Party and grassroots. While the other four candidates duke it out to split up the more moderate GOP vote (roughly 66 percent) four ways, Thomas is poised to take the base (33 percent) and win the nomination. The Democrats have only put up one candidate, Fred Duval, who is relatively unknown. It is difficult for Democrats to win statewide elections in Arizona; Janet Napolitano was a rare exception. Only through bogus election complaints against her GOP opponent, Matt Salmon, a whisper campaign about how his Mormonism was sexist (one in five GOP women voted for her based on this), and getting Sheriff Arpaio to run TV ads about her, was she able to win by a half a percent.

Andrew Thomas for Governor: Thoughts on Illegal Immigration

On immigration: "When I was in office, I worked with important allies and, for a period of time, shut down illegal immigration. As Governor, I intend to finish the fight by sealing the border, stopping illegal immigration once and for all, and driving the drug and human trafficking cartels back into Mexico. And frankly, I don't much care how various 'communities' respond to these efforts."

"I would retain Gov. Brewer's executive order, but I believe far more needs to be done to end our government's unofficial toleration of rampant illegal immigration. We cannot feed and clothe anybody who manages to break into our state. We were winning this fight when I was in office, and now we are losing. It's time to start winning again."

100,000 illegal immigrants left Arizona while Andrew Thomas was Maricopa County Attorney

When Andrew Thomas was Maricopa County Attorney over One Hundred Thousand illegal aliens left the State of Arizona the only Candidate for Arizona Governor with a proven track record of fighting illegal immigration.

Andrew Thomas the only true conservative with a proven record in the race.

Andrew Thomas's new TV campaign ad: Conservatives are backing him

"Conservatives are backing Andrew Thomas for Governor because he's the only candidate to stop illegal immigration. He stood up to the gay lobby and opposes liberal judges," said the ad "When I enforced the law, illegal immigrants fled, now they stay and protest," he said in the ad.

Under Andrew Thomas, illegal immigration plummeted in Arizona

Andrew Thomas set a national standard for fighting illegal immigration.  He helped write Senate Bill 1070, the state’s employer-sanctions law, and the voter-approved ban on bail for illegal immigrants accused of serious felonies.  He and Sheriff Joe Arpaio were the only law-enforcement leaders to fully enforce state immigration laws, most famously in their crackdowns against human smuggling.  Because of these efforts, by the time Andrew Thomas left office in 2010, illegal immigration had plummeted in Arizona.

Andrew Thomas for Governor: Elect a REAL conservative who won't sellout

The race for Governor is wide-open.  Andrew Thomas is well positioned to win.  Why not elect a real conservative who will secure the border and won’t sell out and break his campaign promises right after the election?  Andrew Thomas is the conservative warrior we need.

Polls show Andrew Thomas is a leading candidate for governor

Andrew Thomas for Governor on Education

Andrew Thomas for Governor on Obamacare

Obamacare is collapsing, and Arizona must not prop it up by expanding coverage of its residents.  We will inevitably be handed the bill once federal guarantees to pay for the uninsured become empty IOUs.  Already, state treasuries throughout the country are being depleted by new demands for Medicaid.  Andrew Thomas has spoken out consistently against Obamacare, will strongly urge its repeal, and opposes expansion of this ruinous program.

Andrew Thomas for Governor: Thoughts on Job Growth

A growing and vibrant Arizona economy flows from making Arizona a uniquely attractive place to live, work, invest and retire.  Our natural beauty and entrepreneurial spirit will remain attractive only as long as Arizonans defend these natural assets from those that would harm them.  That means: Ensuring tough policies to reduce crime and ensure the safety of our neighborhoods, communities and businesses.  Low crime rates are a must so Arizona can continue to attract new business. Securing our border.  Individuals or businesses will think twice before relocating to a state harassed by violence flowing from its southern, foreign neighbor. Keeping taxes and regulations low compared to those of other states.  This competitive advantage for Arizona must be maintained and expanded when possible.
Offering creative new ideas to attract jobs to Arizona. Ending the fiscal games played to balance the state budget.  No more leasing the state Capitol building to pay for annual state expenses.

Andrew Thomas for Governor: Thoughts on Liberal Bullies

Andrew Thomas for Governor Will Fight to Stop Illegal Immagration

Ten years ago, Andrew Thomas ran for Maricopa County Attorney and promised to stop illegal immigration.  Liberal elites scoffed.  Illegal immigration was a federal problem, they said, not a state issue.  Nobody had ever tackled illegal immigration at the state level before.  And illegal immigration had not been stopped in any meaningful way, by any government agency, for decades.  Andrew Thomas is the only true conservative with a proven record in the race.

An Arizona kindergartner, 5-year-old Eric Lopez, was disciplined for "sexual misconduct" for pulling his pants down on a school playground at his elementary school after another student told him to do so. Tell the Dysart Unified School District to remove the "sexual misconduct" report from Eric's records and to create a new policy with clearer guidelines as to what should go on a student's record.
Back in April, another student told Eric to pull down his pants or he would do it for him. With a number of other students watching, Eric pulled down his pants and underwear. Teachers took him to the principal's office, where -- without knowing that he could have a parent present -- Eric was forced to sign a document that labeled his actions "sexual misconduct."
As Eric's mother, Erica Martinez, says in AZFamily.com, “He’s a 5-year-old. He does not know right from wrong yet.”
The Dysart Unified School District has denied Eric's mother's appeal and informed her that the "sexual misconduct" report will remain on Eric's permanent school record.
Tell Ashton Ranch Elementary School in Surprise, Arizona, Assistant Superintendent Jim Dean, and the Dysart Unified School District to grant Erica Martinez's request to have this document removed from Eric's permanent record. To prevent future incidents -- and so other children do not have to go through what 5-year-old Eric is going through now -- the school district must also craft a new policy that specifies what should go on a student's record and state that a parent must be present before a child signs a document.
