Young Republican Leadership Conference: April 30-May 4

The Young Republican National Federation is pleased to invite you to the 2008 Young Republican Leadership Conference, "R GENERATION", in Washington, D.C. April 30-May 4.

Speakers, panel discussions and training sessions will be focused on our conference theme, "R Generation," suggesting how we, America's 'now' generations of Republican leadership, can and should shape policy, spur economic growth, promote a sustainable and enduring United States and realize our full potential to steer the course of elections, policy and our Party this year and beyond.

We are honored to welcome a host of conservative leaders including U.S. House of Representatives Minority Leader John Boehner, The Honorable Ed Gillespie, Speaker Newt Gingrich author of Real Change, U.S. House Republican Policy Committee Chairman, Congressman Thaddeus McCotter, Congressman Mac Thornberry, National Campaign Chairman for Governor Mike Huckabee and former Reagan Administration official, Ed Rollins, Senior Adviser to Mitt Romney for President and Former White House Political Director for President George H. W. Bush, Ron Kaufman, GOPAC Chairman and FOX News Contributor, Michael Steele, Marc Ambinder of The Atlantic.com, Ross Douthat, Senior Editor for The Atlantic Monthly, and Ramesh Ponnuru, Senior Online Editor at the National Review, who will join us as event keynote speakers and policy panelists discussing a range of issues, including energy security, the economy and healthcare. In addition, former YRNF Chairman, Congressman Kevin McCarthy, recently named 'the Strategist' by the Weekly Standard, will provide conference participants a visit to the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Training sessions on Political Activism led by GOPAC, Communications led by Leadership Institute, Fund Raising with Campaign Finance Lawyer, Mark Braden of Baker Hostetler and Leadership with Colonel Dan Nolan, Retired will provide thought-provoking concepts for you to enhance your efforts at home and within your political circles.

An evening welcome reception at a Washington landmark, with House Minority Leader John Boehner (approximate start time to begin no earlier than 6:00 p.m.)

Afterward the VA/DC/MD YRs will host a reception for all participants to attend

Details are forth coming on both events

Lunch with keynote speaker, Former U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Newt Gingrich, who will also be available for a signing of his book "Real Change" following lunch


Thursday, May 1
Visit to the Floor of the U.S. House of Representatives at 8:00 a.m. sharp

Tour of the U.S. Capitol building followed by a group picture on the Capitol Steps

Lunch with Congressman Thaddeus McCotter, Chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee

Afternoon training sessions: Leadership, Political Action, Fundraising, and Communications; details on each of these training can be found on the YRLC agenda page or register for the training sessions online at http://www.yrlc2008.net/trainingsessions.html . We need to have an idea of how many people are interested in each track/sessions, so please sign up as soon as possible.

Meet-and-greet evening reception with RNC Leadership location to be annouced shortly.

W. Bush and former RNC Political Director and invited guest, Frank Donatelli, RNC Deputy Chairman and liaison between the RNC and McCain for President campaign.

During dinner, we will hold the YR Vice Presidential Straw Poll, details forthcoming. The dress will be cocktail attire.

YRNF Committee and National Board meeting

For those who do not plan on attending the YRNF board meeting we will provide further details on site seeing options on our website while waiting for our evening dinner.

Saturday night YRLC Gala will be held at the hotel. The dress will be Black Tie optional.

Sunday, May 4, 2008
Community service project to benefit our U.S. Troops. Do you know of a solider or soldiers that could use a care package in Iraq or Afghanistan? Please email us at yrlc2008@gmail.com with their name and address of where to send the box. We will be filling boxes up with goodies from 10am - 1pm.
